WrestleMania 40 was a complete success. With multiple records broken and some historic numbers marked throughout the WrestleMania season, it is clear that WWE has managed to intrigue fans with some of the best content available worldwide. However, just days after the Biggest WrestleMania of all-time, the company has already started planning next year’s show.
However, there might be a slight change in the schedule from next year. WWE went head-to-head with Final Four and the Finals for the college basketball tournaments on some occasions during the WrestleMania week. While they did good throughout the week, things could have been better if college basketball didn’t clash.
During an appearance at the sports convention recently, Nick Khan stated that there were plans to make changes to the WrestleMania weekend. During a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that WWE was seemingly planning to move it up by a week or so.
“Okay, so he talked about WrestleMania next year, and basically that they did not announce WrestleMania because they have not finalized the location. But he’s talking about changing the weekend, he just doesn’t want to go against the Final Four anymore, because Saturday went against the Final Four. And then the home to show the Raw after Mania went head-to-head with the finals. And even though the show did a fantastic number, it would have done an even better number had it not gone against the final. So looks like it’s probably going to be moved up a week or so maybe, maybe more. But probably a week or so unless they also try to avoid Easter, so they could make it. I haven’t looked at the calendar for last year.”
While the plans have not been finalized for WrestleMania 41 yet, Nick Khan has already stated that Las Vegas was one of the cities under consideration to host next year’s show. Ringside News will keep you updated on this story.
