Drew McIntyre is notably one of the most outspoken rivals in WWE, often directing his intense animosity towards CM Punk. It ultimately cost McIntyre the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but McIntyre has made it clear he will never stop going after Punk, as he did so once again during a WWE live event in the UK.
At WrestleMania 40, CM Punk gave Money in the Bank winner Damian Priest the opening to cash in his briefcase and snatch the title from The Scottish Warrior by brutally attacking McIntyre after his match with Seth Rollins. Since then, McIntyre has made it his mission to end CM Punk.
McIntyre and Punk have been engaged in a verbal battle that spilt over onto social media and persisted at the recent WWE Live event in Birmingham, England. Amidst chants for CM Punk directed at McIntyre, he grabbed the microphone and retorted that Punk’s never healthy and even if he were, Punk would never fly to the UK to see the fans.
“You do know, even if he was healthy… which is never… he would never make the trip to the UK, so don’t waste your breath on the idiot.”
We’ll have to wait for CM Punk to fully recover from his triceps injury before he and Drew McIntyre can face off. There’s speculation that a SummerSlam match between them would be ideal, but only time will tell if it comes to fruition.
