Drew McIntyre’s rivalry with CM Punk has been one of the most heated and intense feuds in WWE history. The animosity between the two has spilt over into multiple matches and confrontations, both in the ring and on the microphone. McIntyre’s pursuit of CM Punk has had significant consequences for his career, particularly when it led to him losing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
The feud reached a new level at WrestleMania 40 when CM Punk attacked McIntyre after his match with Seth Rollins, creating an opening for Money in the Bank winner Damian Priest to cash in his briefcase and claim the title. This betrayal not only cost McIntyre the championship, but it also fueled his determination to seek retribution against Punk.
McIntyre and Punk have been engaged in a verbal battle that spilt over onto social media and persisted at the recent WWE Live event in Birmingham, England. McIntyre noted that while he was hurt, he still came to wrestle, unlike CM Punk.
“I’m actually hurt, but you know what i’m still here because i’m not a big b**ch like Cm Punk”
We’ll have to wait for CM Punk to fully recover from his triceps injury before he and Drew McIntyre can face off. There’s speculation that a SummerSlam match between them would be ideal, but only time will tell if it comes to fruition.
