Booker T Claims CM Punk’s Actions in AEW Not Grounds for Termination

AEW’s April 10th episode of Dynamite offered fans a special behind-the-scenes look at the All In event. This exclusive footage was shared by The Young Bucks, providing a rare glimpse into the inner workings of the wrestling spectacle. Despite the revelations in the footage, it seems that Booker T holds the opinion that CM Punk’s actions in the footage did not warrant his termination from AEW.

The show unveiled an intense altercation between Jack Perry and CM Punk in exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the All-In event. The conflict escalated when Punk aggressively shoved Perry, leading to chaos backstage. Samoa Joe and other AEW staff members had to step in to defuse the situation and restore order. It is to be noted that this altercation led to the termination of CM Punk’s AEW contract.

While speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T talked about the All In backstage footage featuring CM Punk and Jack Perry. Booker T stated that he believes CM Punk’s actions in the footage did not warrant his termination from AEW.

“Me personally, I don’t think that was a fireable offense. I don’t know what has been going on behind the scenes with CM Punk and Tony Khan or anything like that for Tony Khan to make a decision like that off of what we saw because that did not seem like it was anything other than the boys getting into it. I’ve gotten into it with guys on the roster before many many times. And normally after it happens they will bring us in and say guys, either we gonna get along or somebody’s going to have to get along, one of the two. And we shake hands and get back to work.”
