The situation surrounding WWE Superstar Drew Gulak and his absence from WWE television has led to significant controversy.
Ronda Rousey accused Gulak of inappropriate behavior toward her during her time with the company, raising serious concerns. As a result of these allegations, Gulak has not appeared on WWE television, and it seems the company may have placed a ban on even mentioning his name on air.
During her appearance on NewsNation, Ronda Rousey claimed that Drew Gulak acted inappropriately towards her by grabbing the string of her sweatpants without her consent while she was waiting to talk to Triple H in the writer’s room.
“Drew Gulak. Drew Gulak, that’s who it was. I confronted him later and I was like, ‘If I ever hear about you putting your hands on any other woman like this or doing anything like this to me ever again, we’re going to have a problem.’ He was like, ‘No, no, no. I’m glad you said something to me.’ He really backpedaled, but it put a sour taste in my mouth about the culture there and what’s considered acceptable on how to touch and treat the women in the hallways, and anywhere.”
During last night’s episode of NXT, there was a notable segment featuring the D’Angelo Family and the No Quarter Catch Crew. The storyline revolved around the two groups striking a deal for the Family to “take care of” Drew Gulak “for the good of the industry.”
As a result, Gulak has been removed from the No Quarter Catch Crew and has been absent from TV entirely since Ronda Rousey made accusations against him. This development aligns with WWE’s approach to the situation, as it appears the company is taking steps to address the serious allegations made by Rousey.
During Fightful’s NXT post-show, Corey Brennan reported that there is a clear directive in place not to mention Drew Gulak on WWE programming. Brennan confirmed that WWE does not want to bring attention to Gulak’s situation in any way.
“There’s a directive right now not to mention Drew Gulak. That is something I can say with absolute certainty. They don’t want to bring attention to it.”
Drew Gulak has already provided a defense against Ronda Rousey’s accusations, but to no avail, as it is clear WWE is trying to avoid as much controversy as possible and the safety way for them to do that was to remove Gulak entirely. While Gulak is still listed on WWE’s website roster page, his future with the company remains uncertain and only time will tell what will happen to Gulak in the end.
