GUNTHER’s remarkable run as a proud WWE title holder made him the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in history. The reign that began in June 2022, has now come to an end at WrestleMania 40 and now, he has finally stepped out of his loss to make an in-ring appearance.
The leader of Imperium faced Sami Zayn at The Show of Shows, who prepared for the match under the guidance of his friend-now-turned-foe, Chad Gable heading into his WrestleMania with the dominant champion in GUNTHER.
Despite The Ring General’s dominance throughout his match with Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 40, he displayed incredible resilience and delivered a series of devastating Helluva kicks securing him the victory and ending GUNTHER’s championship reign.
Since that night, GUNTHER was missing from WWE shows but finally resurfaced at the recent WWE live event in the United Kingdom. He was part of a fatal 4-way match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, pitting the champion Sami Zayn against him, Chad Gable, and Finn Balor.
Despite once again being inserted into the Intercontinental title picture, fans have also been speculating about GUNTHER’s future plans, wondering if he might set his sights on the World Heavyweight Championship after WrestleMania 40, so it will be interesting to see what’s next for The Ring General.
