The war of words and ratings is very much prevalent between WWE and AEW in the wrestling world, with superstars from both locker rooms taking shots at each other. This time, it was Grayson Waller who took a subtle jab at them after his recent one at the promotion releasing backstage footage from their AEW All In event.

The company would be coming to Jacksonville, FL on May 17 for Friday Night SmackDown and the Aussie Icon is advertised to be a part of the show in the state where AEW is based.

During a recent interview on Going Ringside, the current one-half of the SmackDown tag team champions appeared to promote WWE’s invasion into Jacksonville next month for its flagship programming.

Grayson Waller stated that it had been years since Jacksonville witnessed good wrestling action which looked like a subtle shot at the Jacksonville-based promotion, AEW as well as berating their sports team, The Jaguars, also owned by AEW President Tony Khan and his father Shahid Khan.

“Finally, some good wrestling in Jacksonville. I feel like it’s been years since we’ve seen some really good wrestling in Jacksonville. That’s what we’re bringing back. Somehow, $20 for a ticket. I don’t know how I feel about $20 to see the SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Right now, I feel we have the best roster in WWE history. Hands down, from the bottom to the top. The SmackDown roster is on fire. Things do feel like a new era. Cody said Renaissance Era, I think that’s the perfect name for it. The SmackDown roster fully exudes that. If you want to see a show, anyone who was at WrestleMania, Raw, SmackDown, NXT, live wrestling, there is nothing else like it. Now, we’re coming to Jacksonville. It’s not like you can support the Jaguars, that team sucks. Trevor Lawrence, he’s horrendous. Pretty much any sports team in Jacksonville sucks. Maybe you want to come see a real champion because you won’t be seeing one anytime soon.”

Grayson Waller and his partner, Austin Theory are coming off their historic win in the 6-Pack ladder match at WrestleMania 40. Waller unhooked the SmackDown Tag Team Titles and became new champions alongside Theory. Much like the RAW tag champions, R-Truth and The Miz got new titles this week, the same could be in store for Waller and Theory as soon as the next edition of SmackDown.

Do you think Grayson Waller meant to take a shot at AEW as part of WWE’s upcoming live event promotion in Jacksonville? Sound off in the comments!
