The Undertaker Acknowledges Roman Reigns’ Accomplishments After WrestleMania 40 Loss

Roman Reigns has established himself as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. His exceptional track record speaks to his unmatched level of success in the industry. Reigns has received praise from many, including The Undertaker, who acknowledged Reigns’ achievements and praised his impact on professional wrestling.

The Head of The Table has accomplished a lot in the company and he eventually reached an incredible milestone as the Undisputed Universal WWE Champion, but ultimately lost to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 last week, thus bringing an end to his historic run.

While speaking on the latest episode of the Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker spoke about the backstage atmosphere after the main event match, describing it as emotionally charged. He praised Roman Reigns for his historic run, noting the unique challenges Reigns faced in today’s market.

The Undertaker mentioned that Reigns’ run may not be the longest in history, but it is phenomenal considering the extensive media coverage, live television, and exposure Reigns deals with.

The Undertaker compared Reigns’ run to the eras of wrestling legends Bob Backlund and Hulk Hogan, pointing out that their achievements occurred during times without the advantages of social media or as much live television.

“Man, there was a lot of really emotional moments backstage. You can imagine Roman coming back and after just…what an amazing run as champion. If you look at it, and put it in today’s market, what a phenomenal run.

It’s not going to go down to the record books as the longest world title run but when you look at it in actuality with as much coverage, as much media, as much exposure that you have now. I mean, you have to go back to someone like [Bob] Backlund’s run and Hogan’s early run. They didn’t have social media. They didn’t have as much live TV or they didn’t wrestle at all on TV.”

Even Kenny Omega gave Roman Reigns his flowers recently. Roman Reigns’ next appearance following his WrestleMania 40 loss has also been revealed. Nonetheless, Reigns has earned the respect of The Undertaker and many other legends in the business and that is all that matters to him.
