Gable Steveson, who signed a deal with WWE some time ago, has been making his presence known in the wrestling world by competing in dark matches. While his WWE television status remains unclear, Steveson has now revealed his true feelings about his current position in WWE.
Gable Steveson made a notable appearance at the WWE SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution event held in Vancouver. He competed in a dark match against Cedric Alexander before the main event, providing fans with a glimpse of his wrestling abilities. Despite the excitement surrounding his appearance, Steveson’s involvement in the event was limited to the dark match, and he did not participate in any other segments or matches during the main card.
Gable Steveson recently shared his perspective on his current position in WWE during his guest appearance on the JAXXON PODCAST. He expressed his contentment with his current journey in professional wrestling and is focused on continuing his development within the industry.
Steveson enjoys the process of working with WWE and feels that he is making good progress, particularly through his appearances in dark matches. He is using this time to refine his in-ring skills and grow as a performer without the pressure of being on live television.
”Yeah, I think there’s a great opportunity to do a lot of great things (under TKO with WWE & UFC) but right now, I’m loving the WWE process, everything is going really good. SmackDown, the dark matches are going really well. I’m getting better every time so I’m focused on one thing at a time but, obviously, at the end of the day, competitiveness is always gonna be there and there’s always the what if you can? But, where I am right now with the business is really good and I’m happy where I am.”
Steveson acknowledged the opportunity to explore different aspects of his character and find his unique identity in the wrestling world. Steveson recognizes his strengths in Olympic and Folkstyle wrestling, but he is still experimenting to discover his persona in the realm of sports entertainment.
Additionally, he mentioned his desire to embrace different aspects of his personality in his wrestling character, whether it’s being outgoing, funny, or confident. Steveson also acknowledged the comparison to Brock Lesnar, as he seeks to carve his own path in the industry and potentially establish himself as a dominant force.
”It’s for you to experiment because it’s not on live TV. So, right now, I’m trying to find who is Gable? I know who I am in Olympic-style wrestling, I know who I am in Folkstyle wrestling. But, in entertainment, who am I? I know who I am personally. I’m outgoing, I’m funny, I’m nice, I’m humble but sometimes, you gotta be that cocky and this side, I can be that and I can be whatever I wanna be with my life… I was thinking the new Brock (Gable said in response to Rampage Jackson saying he should be the next Goldust).”
Gable Steveson’s status for the 2024 Paris Olympics has also been revealed. It remains to be seen what will become of Gable Steveson and whether he will ever return to WWE television again.
