Kenny Omega Addresses Rumors That Cody Rhodes Left AEW Due to The Elite

Cody Rhodes, the wrestling sensation who made shockwaves with his return to WWE, had a memorable run in AEW as well but left the company eventually. Interestingly enough, Kenny Omega has now addressed rumors of Cody Rhodes leaving AEW due to the Elite.

Cody Rhodes unexpectedly left AEW in February 2022, stunning fans. During his time in the promotion, Rhodes was known for his standout performances and for elevating other talent in the ring.

Cody Rhodes also defeated Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 to become the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. While speaking on his Twitch stream, Kenny Omega revealed that he did contact Cody Rhodes after WrestleMania 40 and shut down rumors that Rhodes left because of The Elite.

”Of course. Guys, we talk all the time, he has my number, I have his. Anytime we have something big on the horizon, we message and support each other. I don’t even know how this thing started like ‘Well, the reason why Cody left was because he hated Kenny and The Young Bucks.’ That’s not even close to the thing at all.”

Cody Rhodes also revealed if he ever considered returning to AEW. Nonetheless, Rhodes and The Elite will always have a great relationship and that is unlikely to ever change.
