The heated tensions between WWE and AEW have escalated, most recently highlighted by exchanges involving AEW’s top signee, The Aerial Assasin Will Ospreay, and WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
At an appearance at the WWE World event last week, The Game hinted at Ospreay’s signing with AEW, suggesting that some performers are not fit for the WWE regime if they are afraid of working tough schedules and unwilling to put in the work required.
In response, Will Ospreay delivered a promo on AEW Dynamite last week accusing Triple H of advancing his career through his relationship and subsequent marriage with Vince McMahon’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon.
After this incident, WWE Hall of Famer and a massive AEW critic, Eric Bischoff shared his thoughts on Ospreay’s promo during a recent episode of “Wise Choices.” Despite his questionable promo, Bischoff expressed his admiration for Ospreay’s work and potential.
“Who wrote that for him? Will Ospreay — man, you’ve only been on the scene now for a couple of weeks, [with] so much anticipation. I, for one, think your work is friggin’ fantastic. I think you’ve got a great look. … You still have a bright future despite that stupid nonsense you said the other night.”
Furthermore, the former WCW President believed that Will Ospreay has a bright future in wrestling, though he acknowledged that he is still adjusting from the independent wrestling scene to the mainstream American wrestling landscape.
“Will, just kind of get with it, man. Go out there and do your thing. Put on a hell of a show. Try to rise above the slop you’re having to play in, because that’s what it is — it’s slop.”
Following this controversial promo, Will Ospreay looks towards the future as he is set to collide with The American Dragon Bryan Danielson at the upcoming pay-per-view, AEW Dynasty this month in a highly anticipated dream showdown that has the fans eagerly awaiting to witness this match.
