WrestleMania 40 marked an unparalleled triumph for WWE, with the company achieving record-breaking milestones across a range of metrics. With that said, WWE ended up scrapping plans for some major returns.
According to a report from Fightful Select, there was supposed to be some integration of Trish Stratus and Lita in a segment during WrestleMania that ultimately did not take place. While specific details of the planned segment were not provided, it is clear that there were changes to the initial plan involving these legendary WWE stars.
”There was some Trish Stratus and Lita integration in a WrestleMania segment that we’re told didn’t end up happening.”
Almost a year ago, at WrestleMania 39, Team Bestie, consisting of Trish Stratus and Lita, made a triumphant return to WWE. They joined forces with Becky Lynch to face off against Damage CTRL’s Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY in a thrilling six-woman tag match.
Although this marked Lita’s most recent in-ring appearance, Stratus continued her WWE journey by engaging in a captivating feud with Lynch that lasted nearly five months. The rivalry reached its climax at Payback 2023 in September. The duo also hinted at returning to WWE television this year, so we will have to wait and see whether that will happen in the end.
