Natalya has been one of the mainstays of WWE’s women’s division ever since her debut back in 2008. That’s why it was no surprise she wants to compete in Bloodsport.

Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport featuring Shayna Baszler marked significant crossover between WWE and the independent wrestling scene. As the event concluded, it became apparent that other WWE talents were also approached to participate.

The news of multiple WWE talents being scheduled to compete at Bloodsport, an event technically promoted by GCW, came as a surprise to many. This is particularly notable considering that talents from AEW have previously appeared on Bloodsport. Historically, WWE has been cautious about allowing its talents to work independent shows, making this development unexpected and intriguing for wrestling enthusiasts.

In an interview with Fightful, Natalya discussed her experience attending Bloodsport X and praised WWE’s President, Nick Khan, for his support of the wrestling community.

Natalya expressed her enthusiasm for the sense of camaraderie during the weekend, noting that WrestleMania is a major event that brings the wrestling world together as one big family. She spoke highly of Khan’s support for the wrestling community, highlighting how it helps the industry evolve.

Natalya mentioned seeing many familiar faces backstage and expressed excitement at seeing Khan support Shayna Baszler and Josh Barnett at Bloodsport X. She shared her own history of training with Baszler and Barnett before Baszler joined WWE and praised Barnett as a coach.

“Yeah. I just love that we can all celebrate wrestling this weekend. For me, this is the biggest WrestleMania in WWE history. It’s amazing. But when we have WrestleMania, we all come together and celebrate as a family, as a community. I saw so many cool people backstage there. Yeah. It’s so cool because Nick really supports the wrestling community and that is such a cool thing to see. That’s how our business has evolved so much. I felt so excited to see Nick there supporting Shayna and Josh Barnett. I actually trained with Shayna and Josh Barnett before Shayna ever even came to WWE. I trained with Josh Barnett many years ago and he’s such a great coach. But it was exciting to be there celebrating wrestling. That’s what we’re doing this weekend. To me, I love all wrestling. I watch everything and I think it’s important to support our friends and this community, but also lift each other up because this weekend we’re eating. We’re eating good.”

At the Bloodsport X event, Shayna Baszler delivered dominant performance against Masha Slamovich, securing the victory. The success of Baszler’s appearance raises speculation about the potential for WWE’s continued involvement in such events.

As the wrestling community reflects on this collaboration, anticipation builds for the possibility of future WWE talents participating in Bloodsport. Who else from WWE’s roster would you like to see at the next Bloodsport event? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
