AEW was once a safe haven for talent who felt they would never be released or see mass cuts for that matter, but that is no longer the case as the company released many talent earlier this month.

The initial releases from AEW included Stu Grayson and AEW ring announcer Dasha Kuret. Since then, approximately 10 individuals have parted ways with the company. Alongside Grayson and Kuret, Parker Boudreaux, Slim J, Gravity, Anthony Henry, Jora Johl, Jose The Assistant, and the Boys have also been among those who have left AEW.

José García, formerly known as “Jose The Assistant” in AEW, was one of several AEW stars released from their contracts on April 1. Following his departure, García has updated his Twitter account to reflect his new status.

His account now displays the name “JoseTheUnemployed” instead of “JoseTheAssistant,” indicating that he is now a free agent. This change confirms his departure from AEW and his availability for new opportunities in the wrestling industry. García’s future in the industry remains open as he explores his next moves.

Regardless, we’ll have to see whether AEW will end up releasing more talent somewhere down the line and whether Jose The Assistant will end up finding employment elsewhere.
