WWE’s success as a well-oiled machine is a result of numerous moving parts and the dedication of many individuals within the organization. However, it appears WWE has parted ways with another talent, Sid Scala.
Sid Scala, who played the role of Assistant General Manager on WWE’s NXT UK brand, has been released by WWE over the past week, according to PWInsider.com. Scala had been with the company since December 2018, contributing both as a performer and behind the scenes as a Coach and Producer.
”WWE released former NXT UK Assistant General Manager Sid Scala over the past week, PWInsider.com has learned.”
Scala’s on-screen role involved working alongside British wrestling legend Johnny Saint, where he played the Assistant General Manager. His contributions extended beyond his on-air character, as he played a role in the development and production of the NXT UK brand.
Following the end of the NXT UK weekly series in September 2022, Scala’s involvement in the company shifted towards behind-the-scenes work, where he focused on coaching and producing. However, since the end of his on-air role, Scala had not been utilized by WWE.
Scala’s release comes at a time when the likes of Sue Aitchison and Dan Ventrelle have been released from the company as well. We’ll have to see what will become of Scala in the end.
