AEW Battle Of The Belts X Results (4/13/2024):

The show opens up with how Collision ended as “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson is still laid out on the ramp courtesy of a brainbuster from Konosuke Takeshita. We then see Doc Sampson, Claudio Castagnoli and the referees check on Danielson.

We then head to the back, where Lexy Nair is interviewing FTW Champion HOOK and. Katsuyori Shibata. Nair asks HOOK about his match and Shibata using his phone to speak English for him says he will have HOOK’s back tonight. HOOK then says he has the match on his own tonight.

We then get the entrances of the first match of the show, which is the FTW Championship Match.

FTW Championship Match: HOOK (c) vs. Shane Taylor

The match starts off with HOOK nailing Taylor with body shots, but he couldn’t get Taylor up for a suplex. HOOK then hits Taylor with a running knee off the apron and blasts Taylor with punches on the floor. Taylor then nails HOOK with a jab and body punches. Taylor then hits HOOK with chops, but HOOK responds with body shots. Taylor then blocks another suplex attempt from HOOK and nails HOOK with a liver shot. Taylor then talks trash to HOOK and nails HOOK on the ropes with a gourdbuster. Taylor then hits HOOK with a leg drop on the apron before delivering more punches to HOOK in the corner.

Taylor then threatened to send HOOK back to his father in a bodybag, but HOOK evades a corner splash and responds with strikes. HOOK then got Taylor up and hits him with a German suplex before following it up with an Exploder for a near fall. Taylor then nails HOOK with a uranage before hitting him with a big splash for a near fall. HOOK then evades a couple of shots from Taylor before putting him in a Redrum. Taylor then rams HOOK in the corner and drops him in his back, but HOOK is still held on and gets the win.

We then head to the back, where Lexy Nair is interviewing Rocky Romero. Romero says he doesn’t know what was going on with Best Friends, but he couldn’t focus on that tonight. Romero then says he will get one step closer to gold with a win over Roderick Strong tonight. Kyle O’Reilly then enters and wishes Romero luck.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is an AEW International Championship Eliminator Match.

AEW International Championship Eliminator Match: AEW International Champion Roderick Strong vs. Rocky Romero

The match starts off with Romero putting Strong in an arm lock while standing on the middle rope. Romero then hit Strong’s Arm with his knee. Romero then hits Strong with a kick from the apron. Romero then jumps off and dropkicks Strong. Romero then hits Taven with a suicide dive, then did another on Strong on the other side of the ring.

Strong then hits Romero with a big boot and covers him for a two count. Strong then lifts Romero up, who Romero counters into a hurricanrana. Romero then follows it up with a DDT for a two count. Romero then hits the Sliced Bread on Strong for another near fall. Romero then goes up top and Strong joins him. Strong then hits Romero with a knee strike to his face and gets the win.

After the match, Kyle O’Reilly congratulates Strong before helping Romero up to his feet. Wardlow then nails Romero with a lariat before the Undisputed Kingdom lays waste to Romero. O’Reilly then pulls them away from Romero, only for Strong to nail O’Reilly with a knee. Strong then shouts at O’Reilly that he made the wrong choice of not joining with them.

We then get a recap of Yuka Sakazaki’s return to AEW last week and Serena Deeb’s interest in her immediately following her match. We then see Deeb backstage with Lexy Nair. Deeb starts off by complimenting Sakazaki and noting how she wanted to get in the ring with her. Deeb then says that she is undefeated and steadily climbing the rankings since she came back from injury. Deeb then says Sakazaki should consider her invitation into her dojo last week. Deeb also says she would show Sakazaki why she is the professor of pro wrestling.

We then get the entrances of the main event, which is the ROH Women’s World Championship Match. Lexy Nair delivers the introductions of the main event. Tony Schiavone then notes that the match was under ROH rules, which means they will adhere to the Code of Honor.

Schiavone then says they had breaking news and then announces that Tony Khan signed Roderick Strong vs. Kyle O’Reilly for the AEW International Championship at AEW Dynasty.

ROH Women’s World Championship Match: Athena (c) vs. Red Velvet

The match starts off with Athena cornering Red as the referee calls for the break. Red then locks up Athena’s arm and Athena turns it into a headlock. Velvet then takes Athena down and puts her in a headlock. Velvet then hits Athena with a kick. Athena then picks Velvet up and drops her face first on the turnbuckle and then drops her on the apron.

Athena then lifts Velvet up for a move, but Velvet pulls her back in and hits her with a reverse DDT for a two count. Athena then begs off and pulls Velvet into the turnbuckle. Athena then lifts Velvet up and hits her with a rolling senton. Athena then lifts Velvet up again and mocks Velvet’s mix it up gesture, but Velvet rolls her into a pin for a two count. Athena then responds with a slam for a two count. Velvet then uses her legs to pull Athena off the ropes. Athena then ducks a kick and rolls up Velvet. Velvet then rolls through and hits Athena with a kick and a DDT for a near fall. Velvet then goes up top and jumps to land on Athena to the floor.

Athena then slams Velvet on the floor. Athena then superkicks Velvet and grabs her by the hair and swings her into the LED boards twice. Athena then goes for a move, but Velvet counters into a rollup for a two count. Velvet then superkicks Athena. Athena then nails Velvet with a punch. Athena then goes up top and hit her finisher for the win.

The winner and still the ROH Women’s World Champion, Athena!

After the match, Billie Starkz and Athena picks up Velvet and looks to attack her. Queen Aminata’s music then hits and she makes her way down to the ring to make the save. Aminata then nails Starkz with a headbutt and Athena with a running air raid slam. Aminata then picks Velvet up as the show comes to a close.
