Mercedes Moné made a high-profile entrance into AEW, hailed as one of the promotion’s most significant signings debuting last month at Big Business. However, on last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite took an unexpected turn for the former WWE Women’s champion.

Mercedes Moné expressed her eagerness to challenge for the TBS Championship at AEW Double or Nothing. She also shared her thoughts on the recent match between Julia Hart and Willow Nightingale, both potential opponents for her first AEW match in Las Vegas while getting visibly emotional about her career-threatening injury in an interview segment with Alex Marvez.

However, the interview was abruptly interrupted when the lights went out. When they came back on, Mercedes Moné was discovered lying on the ground, having been attacked by an unknown assailant and could be heard reeling in pain.

The CEO later took to her X to call out the person responsible for the attack and proclaimed that there would be a price to pay for sneak attacking the woman rumored to be the highest-paid female pro wrestling star in the world.
