John Cena believes that there can only be ‘one alpha’ in the longstanding feud between his Fast & Furious co-stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Diesel had been in a feud for years following a brawl on the set of The Fast And The Furious, which led to a public spat.
Although the issues were eventually resolved in the public eye, Johnson has stated that he would not return to the main series of the film franchise. He referred to Diesel’s previous social media plea for him to return as “an example of manipulation,” noting his displeasure at Diesel involving his children and Paul Walker in the matter.
During an episode of the Armchair Expert podcast, host Dax Shepard remarked to Cena that Johnson and Diesel made “a tough pairing” after WWE’s ‘Final Boss’ joined the Fast & Furious franchise with 2011’s Fast Five. Cena responded by acknowledging that both stars are very alpha and driven individuals, but emphasized that when you have two such personalities, there can only be one.
“There’s certainly rumors about that. I can’t deny that. You have two very alpha, driven people. You get two, there can only be one.”
Despite their feud, Johnson made a cameo appearance in last year’s Fast X. It seems that the duo may have reconciled, as Johnson returned for a mid-credits scene in the latest installment, potentially leaving the door open for him to be featured in upcoming films.
