Drew McIntyre scratched and clawed his way back to the top of the food chain and conquered the mountain at WrestleMania 40 by knocking off Seth Rollins and claiming the World Heavyweight Title in front of thousands of fans in attendance.

However, it was his menacing antics that cost him the title in more than 5 minutes after winning. Following his monumental victory and celebrating it with his wife, McIntyre headed over to the announcer’s desk to mock the guest commentator for the match, CM Punk, and rub the original planned WrestleMania moment for The Best in the World in his face.

CM Punk was not going to sit quietly this time and launched an attack on McIntyre after being the prime target of his social media antics for months, giving Money in the Bank winner Damian Priest the opening to cash in his briefcase and snatch the title from The Scottish Warrior.

The former two-time WWE champion, reflecting on perhaps the worst 48 hours of his life, took to his X to send a bold message to The Voice of the Voiceless.

“I will never forgive CM Punk for ruining this moment.”

The Second City Saint one continued the shenanigans the following night on RAW, by distracting Drew McIntyre during the closing moments of a high-stakes No.1 contender Fatal-4 Way match, allowing Jey Uso to capitalize for the win and costing him yet another opportunity.

With CM Punk still recuperating from his triceps injury caused at the hands of Drew McIntyre, all signs are pointing towards a future one-on-one showdown between the two heated rivals at a major WWE show, once CM Punk is medically cleared to return to the ring.
