It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means! AEW Dynamite will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the April 10, 2024 episode.

AEW Dynamite Results (4/10/2024):

The show opens up with Excalibur, Taz and Tony Schiavone welcoming us as AEW World Champion Samoa Joe is making his way down to the ring for his scheduled match against “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes. The Mogul Embassy’s Swerve Strickland then blindsides Joe on the ramp and the two begin brawling. Joe sends Strickland crashing through a barricade, then sets up a table on the barricade. Strickland then spears Joe through the table and officials make their way out to check on Joe and hold Strickland back.

Excalibur then says they had to pivot, so we see footage of Trent Beretta turning on “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy last week. Kris Statlander is then shown confronting Trent Beretta backstage and he whispered something to her before walking off. Renee Paquette was then standing outside Orange Cassidy’s locker room and she was told Cassidy will be wrestling on Rampage this Friday and will address the situation then.

We then get the entrances of the first match of the night, which is the Cope Open for the TNT Championship.

TNT Championship Match: “The Rated R Superstar” Adam Copeland vs. Penta El Zero Miedo

The match starts off with Penta shoving Copeland. Copeland then shoves Penta back and Penta does his signature Zero Miedo pose. Penta then hits Copeland with a spear and climbs to the top. Penta then hits Copeland with a double stomp. Penta then hits Copeland with a superkick, then clotheslines him out of the ring. Penta then looks to fly, but Copeland moves out of the way and both men make their way back inside the ring. Penta then hits a chop on Copeland.

Penta then delivers a kick to Copeland’s thigh and follows it up with an enzuigiri in the corner, but Copeland responds with a tijeras. Penta then lands a kick to Copeland’s head and hits Copeland with a tijeras of his own before both men try knocking each other down with clotheslines. Both men are then able to blast each other with kicks and they exchange chops with each other. Penta then hits Copeland with a Sling Blade and jumps over the top rope to land on him on the outside. The referee then begins a ten count and both men beat it. Penta then hits stomps on Copeland and sets him up on the apron, then nails him with a kick to his head.

Penta then delivers a chop to Copeland in the corner. Copeland then gets Penta in an Electric Chair position and sends him crashing into the mat face first, then puts him in a modified Sharpshooter. Penta then makes it to the bottom ropes to break the hold, then nails a kick on Copeland and goes for a pin, but Copeland kicks out.

Copeland then puts Penta in a crossface, but Penta gets his boot on the bottom ropes to break the hold. Penta then hits an enzuigiri on Copeland, then looks to join him on the apron. Copeland then hits Penta with a boot to his midsection mid-air, but Penta goes for the Fear Factor. Copeland then escapes and hits a powerslam on Penta and Alex Abrahantes checks on him. Copeland then hits a spear on Abrahantes on the outside and Copeland and Penta then make their way back in the ring. Copeland and Penta then teeter on the top rope before Penta hits Copeland with a Canadian Destroyer and goes for a pin. Copeland then kicks out and Penta wrenches on his arm, then goes for another pin. Penta then looks to jump off the ropes, but Copeland hits him with a spear mid-air for the win.

After the match, the lights go out and Julia Hart is standing in the ring. Brody King then blindsides Copeland and hits a boot to his face in the corner, then delivers some stomps on him. Willow Nightingale’s music then hits and she makes her way down to the ring to lay waste to Hart. Hart escapes and Copeland low bridges King out of the ring. Nightingale then checks on Copeland.

We then head to the back, where Renee Paquette is interviewing “Lionheart” Chris Jericho, FTW Champion HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata about their Trios Match tonight against Shane Taylor Promotions. Jericho says HOOK brought in Shibata on his own, which means he is learning. Jericho then says tonight both HOOK and Shibata can sit under his learning tree. Jericho then says if they breathe his verified air, they will be successful. Jericho then walks off and Shibata says through his phone What’s His Deal? HOOK then says don’t worry about it before Shibata looks at Paquette and tells her he likes her necklace.

We then get video footage from the previous three encounters of The Young Bucks and FTR. The Young Bucks win the first match, while FTR wins the next two. Excalibur then says The Young Bucks will discuss and show their footage from All In London next.

We then head to the back, where ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe and Eddie Kingston comment on their match at ROH Supercard of Honor. TNT Champion Adam Copeland then walks in and asks them if they’re good for AEW Dynamite. Willow Nightingale and Adam Copeland then agree to team up on next week’s show.

The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) are then shown backstage as they prepare to reveal the footage from AEW All In. They say they have a big PPV coming up. Nicholas then looks back on their last match with FTR at AEW All In and references old wounds. Matthew then says there was an incident involving two individuals, including “The Scapegoat” Jack Perry. Matthew then says Perry reminds them of themselves. The Young Bucks then reference the other individual, who is friends with FTR. Nicholas then wonders if FTR were the masterminds of the entire situation.

Matthew Jackson then says the backstage incident threw them off their rhythm before their match with FTR. Matthew also says there should be an asterisk next to FTR’s win at AEW All In. Matthew then says the incident itself is like a high-school scrap. Matthew then says the ramifications threatened to take down AEW’s biggest show of all time, but it didn’t. The Young Bucks then reveal the footage, which shows CM Punk confronting Jack Perry. The footage has no audio, but they are clearly talking. Punk is then shown pushing Perry and is clearly the aggressor. Samoa Joe and the others then break it up and Punk walks away. Matthew then says the worst part is creating a wrestling show and filling a show with a historic crowd, but getting distracted by something so stupid and losing. Nicholas then says they won’t be shaking FTR’s hands at AEW Dynasty.

FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) then make their way down to the ring and questions why The Young Bucks are talking about this as he is tired of hearing about it. Cash Wheeler then says they are doing some of their best shows ever, but they are showing clips from eight months ago. Wheeler then says they have to beat the Young Bucks because he is sick of the petty little b***hes. Harwood then admits that AEW would not exist without the Young Bucks. Harwood then says that their win over the Young Bucks makes the duo sick as FTR has eclipsed them as the best tag team on the planet. Harwood then says the Young Bucks lost their way and now they only care about being EVPs. Harwood then highlights the fans’ passion and says they do it for them.

Harwood then says this is about AEW and this is about the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Harwood then says that one team will walk out of AEW Dynasty as the first-ever three-time AEW World Tag Team champions. Harwood then says the Young Bucks may have built the foundation, but FTR will put the roof on the place.

“The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay then makes his way down to the ring to address the AEW fans.

Renee Paquette starts off by saying Ospreay has some things to get off his chest and asks him what they are. Ospreay says there is a rumor that he is afraid of the grind. Ospreay then says he has no idea where this came from as he is one of the only guys flying from the UK to the USA every week to deliver some of the best professional matches the world has ever seen. Ospreay then addresses Bryan Danielson and says he is stronger and faster than him. Ospreay then says the only way he can beat Danielson is to ground him, then says Danielson is a living legend in the business. Ospreay also says fans have paid a lot of money to see the best wrestlers go at it and AEW is where the best wrestle. Ospreay then says it’s his time to show the world what he is about and what he brings to the table. Ospreay then says he is on another level.

We then get a video package, where TBS Champion Julia Hart says she is looking forward to her match with Willow Nightingale. Hart then says she will turn Nightingale’s smile into a frown. Hart then says her destiny is to keep the title and the house always wins.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Trios Match.

Trios Match: FTW Champion HOOK, “Lionheart” Chris Jericho and Katsuyori Shibata vs. Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor, Lee Moriarty and Anthony Ogogo)

The match starts off with Chris Jericho and Lee Moriarty and both men feel each other out. Jericho then gains the upper hand. Shibata then tags himself in and blasts Moriarty with some stiff shots. Shane Taylor then tags in and squares off with Shibata. HOOK then tags in and nails Taylor with a series of shots. Taylor then blasts HOOK with a clothesline and overpowers him. Ogogo then tags in and continues to ground HOOK. Taylor then tags in and slams HOOK. HOOK then tries to get back in the match and hits Taylor with a suplex. Shibata then makes the hot tag and clears house with a flurry of offense. Moriarty then dodges Shibata, so he accidentally hits Jericho with a big boot. HOOK and Jericho then argue at ringside. Moriarty then slams Shibata and gets the win.

After the match, HOOK and Jericho still continue to argue. Jericho slowly leaves back up the ramp as HOOK holds up Shibata’s hand.

Renee Paquette is then backstage with Dustin Rhodes and Paquette says Samoa Joe is medically cleared to compete tonight. Rhodes then says this doesn’t change his strategy as he still has nothing to lose, but everything to gain. Rhodes then says the time for talking is over. Rhodes also says grit, work ethic, passion and glory is what he is all about and tonight is no different.

AEW Continental Champion “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada then makes his way down to the ring for the next match and his opponent Cristiano Argentino is already waiting in the ring.

Singles Match: AEW Continental Champion “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada vs. Cristiano Argentino

The match starts off with Argentino looking to go after Okada, but Okada delivers some right hands on his spine. Okada then hits Argentino with a dropkick and the Rainmaker for the win.

After the match, Okada grabs a mic and accepts PAC’s challenge for an AEW Continental Championship Match at Dynasty. PAC’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. The Young Bucks then blindside PAC as he looks to get in the ring and The Young Bucks hit PAC with a double superkick as Okada holds him in place, but FTR makes their way down to the ring to even the odds. FTR then beat The Young Bucks down, but Okada grabs a chair and nails it across their spine. The Young Bucks then hit FTR with the EVP Trigger and Okada nails PAC with a chair on his head.

We then get video footage of The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass attacking Bullet Club Gold at Supercard of Honor before we go to “Switchblade” Jay White and The Gunns. Bullet Club Gold then do a recap of crushing Darby Allin’s dream, successfully defending their ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Titles last weekend and White finally putting the biggest beatdown on Billy Gunn last week. White then says he is ready to do it again on Rampage, but not against Billy Gunn, against someone Austin and Colten lines up.

Renee Paquette then introduces Thunder Rosa and AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm. Paquette then thanks Storm for organizing this toast, but before Storm speaks, she throws the glass of champagne in Rosa’s face. Storm then throws a tray at Rosa, then rubs the face paint off her. Deonna Purrazzo then makes her way out to check on Rosa, but Rosa brushes her off.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Mariah May vs. Anna Jay

The match starts off with Jay and May hitting each other with chops before Jay nails May with forearms. May then trips Jay and looks for a dropkick. Jay then moves out of the way and hits a Blockbuster on May and May places her on the top rope. May then hits a double chop on Jay, then nails her with a hurricanrana. Jay then hits a neckbreaker on May through the middle rope, but May responds with a headbutt.

May then looks for a Hip Attack, but Jay avoids it and hits May with strikes, then pulls her off the top rope. May then climbs back up to the top and hits a dropkick on Jay, then follows it up with a Hip Attack. Jay then hits a back heel kick on May, then sends her crashing into the mat. Jay then goes for a Gory Bomb, but Mat counters into a pin for the win.

After the match, Jay puts May in a Queenslayer out of frustration. Mina Shirakawa then makes her way down to the ring to save her former STARDOM tag team partner. Shirakawa then grabs a glass of champagne for her and May. Shirakawa then kisses May and the two celebrate their reunion.

We then see Alex Marvez interviewing Mercedes Moné. Moné talks about her interest in challenging for the TBS Championship at AEW Double or Nothing. Moné then shares her thoughts on the match between Julia Hart and Willow Nightingale. Moné then gets emotional as she reflects on her injury in her match against Nightingale, but says she has a plan. The lights then go out and Moné is attacked by someone. The lights come back on and Moné is down and clearly in pain.

We then get the entrances of the main event, which is the AEW World Championship Eliminator Match.

AEW World Championship Eliminator Match: Samoa Joe (c) vs. “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes

The match starts off with Dustin Rhodes taking the fight to Samoa Joe. Joe then overpowers Rhodes and slams him into the barricade. Joe then sends Rhodes into the ring post and controls the action. Joe then busts Rhodes wide open and keeps hitting his wound. Joe then grounds Rhodes and keeps dominating him. Rhodes then tries to get back in the match and hits a powerslam on Joe. Both men then trade blows and Rhodes nails Joe with some strikes and a Bionic Elbow. Rhodes then gets a two count following a low blow. Rhodes then continues being the aggressor and slams Joe into the ring post. Rhodes then gets the world title belt, but opts against using it. Rhodes then hits Joe with the Crossrhodes for a two count. The referee then turns his back and Samoa Joe hits Rhodes with the title for the win.

After the match, Joe puts Rhodes in a sleeper. Swerve Strickland then appears and hits a dropkick on Joe to break the hold. Strickland then grabs Joe’s chain and nails him with it. Joe then manages to escape and officials and wrestlers make their way down to prevent more physicality from happening. Prince Nana then hands Strickland the AEW World Championship and Strickland holds it up as the show comes to a close.
