On this week’s edition of RAW after WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes made a grand entrance after being introduced by WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who kicked off the show by anointing Rhodes as the leader of the ‘Renaissance Era’ of WWE. With over 20,000 fans in attendance, Rhodes stepped into the ring to a thunderous ovation.
Triple H revealed that a special video package chronicling Rhodes’ journey in WWE, leading up to his remarkable title victory at WrestleMania 40, had been prepared by WWE personnel. Emotion overwhelmed Rhodes as he watched the video, culminating in a heartfelt hug with Triple H, while the crowd serenaded him with chants of ‘You deserve it.’
In his address, Rhodes reflected on the path that led to his championship triumph, expressing love for his daughter and paying homage to his opponent, Roman Reigns, and his impressive title reign. As he rallied the audience, Rhodes was interrupted by the appearance of Roman’s cousin and his WrestleMania Saturday opponent, The Final Boss, The Rock.
The Rock, amidst jeers from the Philadelphia crowd, congratulated Rhodes on his victory and expressed a desire to hold Rhodes’ newly won championship. Agreeing to an exchange, Rhodes and The Rock briefly swapped titles, with The Rock hinting at a future confrontation before departing in a cryptic manner, leaving Rhodes and the audience intrigued about what lies ahead.
The aforementioned segment managed to draw insane numbers on YouTube as the video has garnered 1,110,808 views in 10 hours, which is nothing short of amazing and continues to show just how big a draw The Rock remains.
