Chad Gable wasn’t able to challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship after losing the Gauntlet match last month and has since trained Zayn to eventually beat Gunther instead. He is set to challenge Zayn next week for the title and he plans on making all of Canada cry.
On the journey leading up to WWE WrestleMania 40, Chad Gable took on the role of training Sami Zayn to prepare for his match against Gunther. At WrestleMania 40 Night One, Zayn emerged victorious over Gunther, capturing the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
During the April 8 episode of WWE RAW, Sami Zayn extended an offer to Gable, proposing a title shot on the upcoming April 15 episode in Montreal. Gable gladly accepted the challenge.
While speaking on RAW Talk, Chad Gable shared his anticipation for the upcoming match, expressing that it’s something he’s desired for a long time. He emphasized that Sami Zayn owes him a favor, acknowledging himself as the one who trained Zayn and taught him the strategies to defeat Gunther, which Zayn successfully executed.
Gable hinted at Zayn potentially making a crucial mistake along the way, suggesting that as a coach, he’s not only focused on developing strengths but also keenly aware of weaknesses. Gable asserted that while he didn’t request the match in Montreal, Zayn did, and he merely granted it.
Gable warned that if Zayn suffers defeat, the blame shouldn’t fall on him alone, but on Zayn himself. Gable ominously predicted that when he walks out of the building with the Intercontinental Championship, it won’t just be Zayn’s family shedding tears but the entire city of Montreal and the entire country of Canada.
“This is what I’ve wanted for a long time. He owes me a favor, he knows that. I’m the guy that trained him. I’m the guy that taught him what it took to beat Gunther, and that’s what he did. But along the way, he might have made a fatal error. Don’t forget, when you’re a coach at my level, you’re not just teaching people the gifts to get to the highest of highs. You’re keeping track of their deepest weaknesses, and I know all of his now. Now look, I didn’t ask him for that match in Montreal. He requested it, he granted it. So don’t blame me next week when it’s not just his wife or his son in the crowd crying, but it’s the entire city of Montreal and entire country of Canada weeping when I walk out of that building with the Intercontinental Championship.”
We will have to wait and see whether Chad Gable will end up defeating Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship in Canada next week, as that might end up signifying his heel turn as well.
