The anticipation for WrestleMania 40 Saturday reached unprecedented levels, leading to consecutive sellouts of WWE Raw and Smackdown episodes in recent months. Furthermore, numerous shows shattered attendance records, solidifying their place in the annals of wrestling history. WrestleMania 40 Saturday was no exception as Triple H confirmed it broke a major gate record.
WrestleMania Saturday showcased some of the most anticipated matches of the entire event. It kicked off with the Women’s World Championship match and culminated in what was billed as the biggest tag team match in WWE history: The Rock and Roman Reigns versus Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, set for the main event. The energy and excitement of the WWE Universe were palpable throughout the entire show, keeping fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
While speaking during the WrestleMania XL press conference, Triple H confirmed that WrestleMania 40 Saturday broke the all-time single night gate record.
”Tonight, biggest WrestleMania of all time. We broke the all-time single night gate record here tonight, that is something that Nick and I and the team have spend a lot of time pouring through is how to increase that but still remain in the zone where anyone can come to a show. We’re not pricing our fans out of the market, we are very conscious to make sure anyone can enjoy WWE.”
The attendance for the show was also revealed. Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see whether WrestleMania Sunday will be able to surpass WrestleMania Saturday in the end.
