CM Punk, a prominent figure on WWE television, recently shared his thoughts on The Rock’s highly anticipated return to the ring at WrestleMania 40 Saturday. The Rock teamed up with Roman Reigns for his first advertised match in 11 years, facing Seth Rollins & Cody Rhodes. After a grueling battle lasting nearly 45 minutes, The Rock and Reigns emerged victorious, with The Rock securing the win by pinning Rhodes.
During the ESPN post-show, CM Punk was asked about The Rock’s performance. He commented that The Rock looked great, acknowledging their match ten years ago and the questions surrounding The Rock’s return, particularly regarding his physical condition and stamina.
Despite the challenges of a tag match and returning to face the champion, Punk believed The Rock performed admirably and looked impressive. He concluded by acknowledging The Rock’s victory and expressed that there wasn’t much more to say about it.
“I thought he looked great. As someone who wrestled him ten years ago, the same questions were raised. Everyone wanted to know what he was going to look like, how his endurance would be. While there’s a significant difference between a tag match or returning to face the champion, I thought he did well tonight. I thought he looked really good. He won the match, what more can I say?”
Fans eagerly await whether The Rock will make another return to the squared circle, as witnessing The Great One compete after so many years was a thrilling experience.
