WWE presented the last episode of Smackdown before a new era in the company ushers following WrestleMania 40. With a lot of excitement among the WWE Universe, a sold out Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia was set for the go-home episode of Friday Night Smackdown. Among a lot of other segments and matches, the show featured the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal to follow their tradition.
Since the announcement of the match, the WWE Universe has been hyped up with numerous massive stars advertised to be a part of the match. Among some of the biggest names, Chad Gable, Shinsuke Nakamura, Omos, and Andrade were also advertised.
However, not every advertised man was a part of the match. Surprisingly, Chad Gable, Andrade, and Shinsuke Nakamura weren’t a part of the battle royal even though they were advertised for it. While Andrade appeared on the show later to align with Rey Mysterio for his match at WrestleMania 40, Gable and Nakamura weren’t spotted.
With WrestleMania on the horizon, Gable and Nakamura missing the battle royal comes out as a massive surprise for fans. The master of the Alpha Academy has been engaged in the Sami Zayn – Gunther feud at WrestleMania 40 and him appearing during the match wouldn’t be a big surprise. However, Nakamura is seemingly set to miss this year’s event.
