Mark Briscoe Remembers Jay Briscoe After ROH World Title Win

Jay Briscoe will always be celebrated as a legendary tag team wrestler, known for his remarkable in-ring abilities and dedication to thrilling fans. The news of Jay’s passing has profoundly affected the wrestling community, who mourn his loss deeply. Mark Briscoe won the ROH World Title and he paid tribute to his brother afterwards/

The ROH Hall of Famer was tragically involved in a fatal car accident on January 17th, 2023. The Delaware State Police confirmed that another driver crossed the center line and collided with his vehicle head-on.

Jay Briscoe clinched the ROH World Title from Kevin Owens (known as Kevin Steen in ROH) on April 5, 2013. Exactly 11 years later, Mark Briscoe achieved the same feat, triumphantly securing the ROH World Title from Eddie Kingston on the very same date.

During the ROH Supercard of Honor press conference, Mark was asked about his feelings towards his brother after his incredible win. Mark Briscoe made it clear he will always love Jay Briscoe and that there are no coincidences.

I love you, dawg. I love you, dawg,” said an emotional Mark. “There are no words, man. It’s just too many coincidences for it to be a coincidence. I wear my faith on my sleeve. God is good. Stuff like this, where the tragedy that happened, you don’t want to go on or get out of bed. Then nights like tonight, this what gives me comfort. It’s what helps me move on. It’s not easy. Nights like tonight make it a whole hell of a lot easier.“

“I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but there are no words. I love you, dawg. Help me out, be with me. Before he moved on and moved up, when we went out for a match, sometimes there are those nerves and jitters. He’d say, ‘S***, dawg, all we got to do is go out there, walk out there, and let them balls swing.’ Until we meet again. Just trying to do him proud.”

We will have to wait and see how Mark Briscoe will be booked as the ROH World Champion, as he has certainly made his brother proud already.
