It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means! AEW Dynamite will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the April 3, 2024 episode.

AEW Dynamite Results (4/3/2024):

The show opens up with TNT Champion “The Rated R Superstar” Adam Copeland making his way down to the ring as Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz welcome us.

Copeland starts off by saying he wants to have fun, but first he has something to say. Copeland says a lot of negative BS has been spewed this week, but screw that. Copeland also says he wants to focus on the positives as it is a great time to be a fan of wrestling and he loves it. Copeland then recalls how wrestling was taken from him. Copeland then says he realized that AEW was where he needed to end his career. Copeland then praises the roster and the locker room. Copeland then name-drops Will Ospreay, Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe, Jon Moxley, FTR, the Young Bucks and Malakai Black as opponents.

Copeland then says he is having a blast in AEW and this is the most fun he has ever had. Copeland then says he celebrates AEW and the men who started it. Copeland then says AEW makes pro wrestling better and more fun. Copeland also says that AEW is where the best wrestle. Copeland then shifts gears and says AEW is moving forward as there is a reason top stars like Okada and Ospreay came here. Copeland then introduces someone who represents everything that AEW will be going forward and that is Will Ospreay. Ospreay then makes his way down to the ring and shakes hands with Copeland.

Powerhouse Hobbs then makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night and he is accompanied by Don Callis.

Singles Match: Don Callis Family’s Powerhouse Hobbs vs. “The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay

The match starts off with Hobbs tossing Ospreay around the ring. Ospreay then comes back with a series of trips. Hobbs then overpowers Ospreay, but Ospreay sends Hobbs to the outside. Ospreay then hits Hobbs with a big plancha. Hobbs then sends Ospreay into the apron, but Ospreay catches himself. Hobbs then counters and hits a stalling suplex on Ospreay onto the steel steps. Hobbs then hits a slam on Ospreay into the apron over and over again. Hobbs then hits a Fallaway Slam on Ospreay, sending him over the announce table.

Both men are now exchanging shots in the ring. Ospreay now gets a second wind and takes Hobbs out with a Springboard Corkscrew Enzuigiri and scores a near fall. Hobbs then starts to fight back, but Ospreay slaps Hobbs’ mouth and Hobbs says “Do it again!” Hobbs hits Ospreay with a Belly To Belly Suplex. Ospreay then counters another suplex attempt with a Stundog Millionaire. Hobbs then hits a lariat on Ospreay and a slam for a near fall. Hobbs then climbs to the top rope and goes for a Frog Splash, but Ospreay moves out of the way.

Hobbs then stops an Oscutter attempt from Ospreay, but Ospreay bounces off the opposite ropes and hits an Oscutter for a near fall. Hobbs then counters the Hidden Blade, but his Fallaway Slam is countered as well with a Small Package for a near fall. Hobbs then hits a huge lariat on Ospreay and both men are down. Hobbs then corners Ospreay and hits him with a huge lariat. Hobbs then brings Ospreay to the top rope and hits an Avalanche Powerslam, but only gets a near fall. Ospreay then hits a swinging DDT on Hobbs and climbs the top rope. Ospreay then hits a Sky Twister and lands on Hobbs’ head. Ospreay then hits his Hidden Blade finisher on Hobbs for the win.

After the match, Don Callis raises Will Ospreay’s hand. Powerhouse Hobbs gets in Ospreay’s face, but Callis talks him down and breaks up the confrontation. “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson then makes his way out and claps for Ospreay as he is making his way down to the ring for his upcoming match.

“The Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer then makes his way down to the ring for the next match.

Singles Match: “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. “The Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer

The match starts off with Archer taking the fight to Danielson and overpowering him. Archer then maintains the advantage and tosses Danielson. Archer then blasts Danielson with some heavy shots. Danielson then nails Archer with a Dragon Screw and targets his leg. Danielson then kicks Archer and continues to focus on his leg. Danielson then looks to dive onto Archer, but Archer carries Danielson and slams him into the apron. Archer then attacks a member of the crew and slams him onto Danielson.

Archer takes control of the match and overpowers Danielson once again. Danielson then fights back with some strikes. Danielson then crotches Archer on the ropes and hits the Murderhawk Monster with some running kicks. Danielson then puts Archer in the LeBell Lock, but Archer reaches the ropes. Danielson then hits Archer with a running knee off the apron. Danielson then kicks Archer, but gets put down with a chokeslam. Archer then hits Danielson with a knee strike. Danielson then hits Archer with a knee of his own and blasts him with a kick. Danielson then hits his Busaiku knee finisher on Archer for the win.

Renee Paquette is on the ramp and she introduces “Lionheart” Chris Jericho. Jericho makes his way out and calls out FTW Champion HOOK. Jericho starts off by recalling how HOOK said, “I know who you are.” Jericho then admits that he has a history of pushing people away. Jericho then says the rules are different when you play the game at his level. Jericho then asks HOOK to believe in him as much as he believes in HOOK. HOOK then says he believes in Jericho and he got them a match on AEW Collision. HOOK then says he will be keeping his eye on Jericho. Jericho then says he wouldn’t expect anything less as HOOK was learning already.

We then head to the back, where Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty say they are going to make a statement by beating Chris Jericho and HOOK on AEW Collision.

ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion “Switchblade” Jay White then makes his way down to the ring for the next match, but is attacked by AEW World Trios Champion “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn as he was making his entrance.

Singles Match: AEW World Trios Champion “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn vs. ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion “Switchblade” Jay White

The match starts off with Gunn sending White into the barricade. Gunn then sends White into another barricade. Gunn then sends White in the ring and the bell officially rings. Both men then trade shots, but Daddy Ass is getting the best of White, while Max Caster and Anthony Bowens are watching on a monitor backstage. Gunn then continues his beatdown on White throughout the arena. Gunn then returns White in the ring and White escapes again. White then gets back in the ring and Gunn grabs his leg. Gunn then sends White over the top rope to the floor.

White then attacks Daddy Ass in the corner and takes out his knee. White and Gunn then take the fight to the outside again. White then sends Gunn into the ring post and both men get back in the ring. Gunn then counters the Bladerunner with a One & Only, but can’t capitalize. Both men are now down, but they would recover. Gunn then hits the Famouser on White and hits Switchblade with a second Famouser. Gunn then signals for one more Famouser, but stops himself and grabs a steel chair from ringside. Colten and Austin Gunn then storm the ring and protect Jay White. They beg their father to not attack. White then uses the distraction to hit Billy Gunn with a low blow in front of the referee and the referee calls for the bell.

The Singles Match ends in a disqualification!

After the match, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn and Jay White go to attack Daddy Ass, but The Acclaimed make the save. White then runs away and The Acclaimed catches him. The brawl then continues, but Bullet Club Gold escapes.

We then head to the back, where we see The Young Bucks arrive in a Maserati, while Best Friends arrive with Chuck Taylor and Trent’s mom Sue.

Renee Paquette is on the ramp as she is about to interview Willow Nightingale. Nightingale starts off by saying she is feeling “mother-fluffin’ great.” Nightingale then looks back on her journey up to this point and references her history with Kris Statlander, who is standing by her side. Nightingale then makes it clear that she appreciates the fans’ support and says it helped her become who she is today. Nightingale then looks ahead to AEW Dynasty and says she knows she will be “the smiling face of TBS.” Stokely Hathaway then says that Willow is something special. Mercedes Moné then interrupts and says, “Say hello to your CEO.” Moné also says that she can’t wait to see Nightingale face TBS Champion Julia Hart at AEW Dynasty, but she has next as she will challenge for the title at AEW Double or Nothing.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is an AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Semifinal Match.

AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Semifinal Match: The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) vs. Best Friends (“Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy and Trent Beretta)

The match starts off with Trent Beretta and Nicholas Jackson. Trent gets the upperhand almost instantly on Nicholas and tags Orange Cassidy in. Cassidy and Trent then double team Nicholas and gets a near fall. Cassidy then hits a snap suplex on Nicholas. Trent then tags in and tosses Nicholas around. Nicholas then sends Trent into the ropes. Matthew Jackson then tags in and checks on Trent before suplexing him. The Young Bucks then double team Beretta and Cassidy on the outside and hits a powerbomb on Trent on the apron. Matthew Jackson then gets on a headset and does commentary.

Best Friends then try to get back in the match. Orange Cassidy then tags in and cleans house. The Young Bucks then counter a double hurricanrana with Super Kicks. Matthew Jackson then sends Cassidy to an exposed turnbuckle, but Cassidy blocks. Cassidy is then taken out with a double team lariat. Cassidy then tries to fight back and hits a series of Swinging DDTs on The Young Bucks. Cassidy then climbs to the top rope and hits a diving DDT on Nicholas Jackson for a near fall. Nicholas Jackson then fights out of a Strong Zero attempt. Matthew then tags in and Trent counters a TK Driver. Beretta and Cassidy then hit Matthew with a TK Driver, but Nicholas breaks up the pinfall.

Best Friends then hit a Sole Food/Suplex combination and they hug. Nicholas then hits a superkick on Cassidy and Beretta goes for Dude-buster on Nicholas, but Matthew hits him with a Superkick. Matthew then tries to fist bump Sue, but gets slapped. Orange Cassidy then hits a Orange Punch on Matthew. Trent and Cassidy then hit Strong Zero on Matthew, but Nicholas breaks up the pinfall. Cassidy then takes Nicholas to the outside. Matthew then sends Beretta into the exposed turnbuckle and gets the 1-2-3.

After the match, The Young Bucks tell Sue to cry me a river as they gloat about their victory. Best Friends then recover and start a 3-Way hug, but Beretta takes out Orange Cassidy with a running knee strike. Trent then leaves the ring and keeps Chuck, Cassidy and his own mother wondering what just happened.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Thunder Rosa vs. Mariah May

The match starts off with Rosa gaining the upper hand right away. Rosa hits a chop on May in the corner. May then turns the tables on Rosa and hits her with a hip attack. Rosa then takes May down with a headscissors. Rosa then goes to slam May on the apron, but May nails Rosa with a boot. Rosa then hits May with a hurricanrana at ringside. Rosa then hits a crossbody onto May at ringside. Rosa then grounds May, but May rallies and gains the upper hand. Both women now trade shots and Rosa hits May with a release German suplex. May then responds with a suplex of her own. May then hits Rosa with a stiff shot. Rosa then hits May with a backstabber and a Tijuana Bomb for the win.

The winner of the Singles Match and new #1 Contender to the AEW Women’s World Champion, Thunder Rosa!

After the match, Rosa makes it clear that she wants her title shot and the match is confirmed for AEW Dynasty.

We then head to the back, where Penta El Zero Miedo challenges “The Rated R Superstar” Adam Copeland to an AEW TNT Championship Match next week.

Tony Schiavone is already in the ring as he is about to facilitate the contract signing for AEW Dynasty between AEW World Champion Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland, Swerve Strickland makes his way down to the ring first alongside Prince Nana.

AEW World Champion Samoa Joe then makes his way down to the ring next.

Samoa Joe takes a seat at the table and immediately signs the contract for the match as Swerve paces. Schiavone then tries to hurry Swerve, but Joe tells Schiavone to shut up. Joe then says that Strickland would be facing doom and destruction if he signed the contract. Joe also says he will leave Swerve scarred as if he left Diddy’s party too late. Strickland then says he has wanted this moment his whole life. Strickland also says they are building a dynasty in AEW. Swerve then says Joe may be a killer, but he is too. Strickland also says he will show Joe that he is every bit that man. Swerve then says he has the keys to the dynasty and AEW will become his house. Strickland then goes to choke Joe with his chain, but Joe overpowers him and hits Swerve with a chain-wrapped fist.

Joe then continues to hit Swerve with the chain-wrapped fist and busts him open. Officials then separate them and checks on Strickland. Strickland then gets on the mic and laughs while he bleeds. Swerve then says, “I love this shit” and if that is all Joe has got, then he is taking the title. Swerve then signs the contract with his blood. Joe then charges the ring and hits a Uranage on Swerve, sending him crashing through a table. Joe then stands tall and raises the title as the show comes to a close.
