Corey Graves Addresses Potential In-Ring Return Amidst Prolonged Hiatus

Injuries are an unfortunate reality in WWE and the world of professional wrestling, often leading to premature retirements. One individual who has been sidelined from competition for an extended period due to injury is Corey Graves. However, Graves has recently commented on the possibility of returning to the ring again.

Corey Graves was an active in-ring star in NXT, participating in matches regularly. However, he had to retire in 2014 due to concussions. Since then, there have been numerous instances where fans wondered if Graves would ever make an in-ring return.

Graves showcased his talents in NXT, where he notably captured the NXT Tag Team titles alongside Adrian Neville (PAC). His last match took place nine years ago at WrestleMania Axxess against Troy McClain. Since then, Graves has successfully transitioned to a prominent career outside the wrestling ring.

While speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling, Corey Graves was asked about returning to the squared circle. Graves made it clear that he enjoys his role as a SmackDown commentator far too much to care about a match now.

“I could give you five different answers for that, but I can honestly say my focus has really shifted,” Graves said. “I got cleared. It was almost two years ago now, and it was in the midst of a lot of different things were happening, professionally and personally, and I was sort of looking for something to scratch that itch. But since I’ve slid over into the now lead role on Friday Night SmackDown in the commentary booth, that’s actually provided me with a lot more motivation and a new skill to learn and to focus on.”

Corey Graves will continue to shine in his role as a commentator, but an in-ring return could very well happen one day as Graves previously confirmed he is open to competing again after receiving medical clearance for the same, even if it won’t be anytime soon.
