Since assuming the role of Head of WWE Creative in 2022, Triple H has made several transformations within the company. With the fallout from Vince McMahon’s scandal behind them, the promotion seems to be regaining its momentum. In that note, Triple H recently shared his thoughts on the current state of the company, comparing it to the iconic Attitude Era.
In a recent interview with Complex ahead of WrestleMania 40, Triple H expressed his belief that WWE is experiencing another era of significant cultural impact and business success. While Triple H acknowledged that this era may not yet have a iconic tagline like the Attitude Era did, he drew parallels in terms of widespread excitement and engagement.
Triple H also cited the involvement of celebrities like Travis Scott and Bad Bunny, as well as the return of wrestling legend The Rock, as indicators of WWE’s current popularity and appeal. He stated his confidence in WWE’s current trajectory, anticipating a monumental WrestleMania 40 and aiming to make it the biggest in the event’s history.
“As we roll into this, the business is probably – I can look at it different now like where I just said a minute ago we didn’t know it was the Attitude Era at the time. Having lived through that, I can look at it right now and say we’re in another era like that.
People won’t put a tag on it. Like, we didn’t call it the Attitude Era in the Attitude Era. They’ll put a tag on it later or whatever it is. But if we can maintain, we’re in that same white-hot level of, you know, everything sold out. Everything we’re doing is just clicking.
And you see it – Travis Scott wanting to come in, you see it [with] Bad Bunny wrestling with us, you see it [with] The Rock coming back. Rock’s got a busy schedule. If wrestling’s on the down, he ain’t coming in. So you see that, you see that excitement. WrestleMania 40 will be massive and we’re going to do everything we can to make it the biggest WrestleMania in history.“
Meanwhile, WrestleMania 40 is set to take place in Philadelphia over two days and Triple H repeatedly stated that it’ll be an unforgettable event. It should be noted, this WrestleMania marks the first time that Vince McMahon, WWE’s former chairman, has had no involvement with the company, following his resignation amidst legal allegations earlier in the year. Fans can surely expect an action packed showdown.
