Randy Orton has delivered one of the most exceptional wrestling matches in the last two decades on the Grandest Stage of them all, WrestleMania. One of them was against the star who returned to WWE, also after a long time, CM Punk.

The Viper and The Best in the World collided against each other at WrestleMania 27 in a highly explosive bout. The match became popular for its spectacular ending when Orton connected with the RKO over a diving CM Punk from the turnbuckle to secure the win.

Almost a decade and a half later, the former WWE champions caught up with each other to rewatch their epic WrestleMania encounter in a WWE video released on their record-smashing YouTube channel.

At the start of the video, Punk opened up about the scenario between himself and Randy Orton, stating their immense hate for each other. However, WWE’s Apex Predator interrupted Punk and clarified that he had no hate for him and was just portraying his gimmick to the fullest to make it authentic everywhere around the locker room.

“Hate’s a strong word [Okay] I’ve never hated you. [Okay]. I think that I was the kinda person that had a backstage gimmick, and I was trying to live my backstage. I think I was just an insecure, you know what I mean? [Sure]. And then I was talking to Arn and like, [BLEEP] Punk. And you’re like, hey, motherf***ker I’m right here. Say it to my face. [Okay] and I was like, man, I wasn’t expecting him to walk around the corner as I was burying him.”

With WrestleMania 40 coming, both CM Punk and Randy Orton have separate roads ahead of them. The Second City Saint is scheduled to be the guest commentator for the World title clash between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre.

On the other hand, Randy Orton is slated for a huge triple-threat match pitting himself, Kevin Owens, and Logan Paul for his WWE United States championship at The Show of Shows. Despite having different paths for now, it would be interesting to see both Orton and Punk come head-to-head for another mega showdown at a major WWE show in the future.
