Amidst the fervor surrounding WWE’s buildup to WrestleMania 40, AEW has captured attention by unexpectedly releasing a group of superstars from their roster. The rationale behind Tony Khan’s decision to release these stars remains shrouded in mystery.
The first to be let go was Stu Grayson, followed swiftly by AEW ring announcer Dasha Kuret, with more releases anticipated. According to the latest update from Fightful Select, a significant number of additional stars have also been released from their contracts.
In total, around 10 stars have been released from AEW thus far. In addition to Grayson and Kuret, Parker Boudreaux, Slim J, Gravity, Anthony Henry, Jora Johl, Jose The Assistant, and the Boys have been added to the list of departures from the company.
While it appears that the wave of releases from AEW has subsided for the moment, it wouldn’t be surprising if more names were to follow. The motivations behind these releases remain unknown, but it will be intriguing to observe the backstage atmosphere within the company in the aftermath of these departures. Ringside News will continue to provide updates on this evolving story.
