The Rock has long been a passionate supporter of American Football, tracing back to his own aspirations to play professionally and continuing his current endeavor of establishing a league for young hopefuls aiming to excel in the sport. Ahead of the UFL’s inaugural season, he reflected on a significant full-circle moment in his journey.
In 2020, The Great One, alongside his ex-wife and business partner Dany Garcia, acquired the XFL League. However, the venture faced financial challenges and incurred significant losses. Responding to this setback, The Rock and Dany Garcia initiated a major overhaul of their league.
They announced the merger of the XFL and USFL to form the brand new UFL league. This strategic move aimed to provide a fresh avenue of opportunity for young players to pursue their dreams of reaching the NFL and other prominent leagues.
The historic season opener for the UFL League is set to take place on March 30th, Saturday. Ahead of the event, The Rock took to his Instagram and uploaded a video, reflecting on a full circle moment as he wanted to play in the NFL but couldn’t happen and now he is helping other players and coaches fulfil their dreams as part of the UFL.
”Check this out – looked out my hotel window tonight and thought holy s***- how incredibly cool that life can come full circle ⭕️🏟️🏈🙏🏾
Best part of being an owner of the @ufl is helping create opportunities for players to be relentless in their work ethic and live their dreams.
