Nia Jax is one of the top Superstars in WWE’s women’s division but was a highly controversial one for being an unsafe worker. This was made more apparent after she legitimately injured Becky Lynch’s face back in 2018. However, Becky Lynch didn’t want to overplay Jax busting her nose.

In the lead-up to the highly anticipated Champion vs. Champion match between Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey at the 2018 Survivor Series pay-per-view, the brand warfare between RAW and Smackdown was truly at the highest level.

Becky Lynch led the charge as Smackdown invaded RAW before Survivor Series. Lynch was fighting numerous RAW Superstars in the ring, which included Nia Jax. Unfortunately for her, Nia Jax ended up legitimately punching Becky Lynch – breaking her nose and concussing her badly. This would lead to Lynch getting pulled from her match with Ronda Rousey – angering fans in the process.

In a conversation with Raj Prashad of Uproxx, Becky Lynch reflected on the pivotal moment of becoming “The Man.”

“Luck is a bit of preparation meeting opportunity. It’s all the work you put in behind it, then there’s something magical. If you look at ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, he only said ‘Austin 3:16 is gonna whoop you’ one time. And it’s the best selling shirt in wrestling history. Sometimes there’s just something that hits,” Lynch said. “That was the same thing that happened with (Nia Jax hitting) my face. You couldn’t have planned it, but it just takes off. And I think the more people are looking for authenticity in wrestling, they’re looking for something that’s real.”

Becky Lynch stressed the importance of momentum building organically and avoiding overexposure, as she made it clear she did not want Nia Jax busting her nose to become overplayed.

“We’re kind of constantly fighting against that and forcing things down people’s throat. We’re getting away from that a little bit now, but I think that’s one of those things where when something becomes magic, we can sometimes have a tendency to overdo it.”

Becky Lynch bested Nia Jax in a Last Woman Standing match on the March 18 episode of WWE RAW, bringing an end to their feud. We will have to wait and see if they will ever cross paths again in the future.
