Bayley has made a lot of foes ever since she made her return to WWE back in 2022 leading the charge of the Damage CTRL faction with IYO Sky and Dakota Kai. Now, finding herself outcasted by her friends an vowing to destroy what she created, she made an interesting revelation in regard to the origins of the faction.

The Role Model took to her X to hype her upcoming WrestleMania match and shared an old text message, dated March 12, 2022, that she received from IYO Sky, who was still working down in NXT after she took Bayley’s number from another Damage CTRL member Dakota Kai.

The message clearly stated that it was the current WWE Women’s champion who approached Bayley to pitch an idea that involved her. Bayley had responded in agreement to meet IYO Sky in person to listen to her pitch, which later on was revealed to be the idea of forming the Damage CTRL stable.

“Less than 2 weeks away. #WrestleMania.”

The rivalry began right after Bayley, who won the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match chose IYO Sky as her WrestleMania 40 opponent after finding out her true feelings about her and siding with new faction members, Asuka and Kairi Sane.

Moreover, even Dakota Kai betrayed Bayley after initially posing to be her friend, only to berate her in a decisive tag team match and leave the former WWE Women’s champion alone to fight the war.

With the stakes higher than ever and the odds stacked against Bayley, it will be interesting to see if she can survive the numbers game in her quest to dethrone IYO Sky and have her singles WrestleMania moment by winning the WWE Women’s championship from the woman who brought the idea of Damage CTRL to her.
