Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder during his time in WWE, struggled to gain significant screen time and was unable to truly break out as a star there. He was eventually released by WWE in 2020, but he keeps tabs on everything that goes on in WWE, especially when it comes to Cody Rhodes. In fact, Cardona hinted at helping out Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40.
At WWE WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins are set to face Roman Reigns and The Rock. Should Rhodes and Rollins lose, Rhodes’ subsequent clash with Reigns on WrestleMania Sunday will escalate to a Bloodline Rules match, allowing anything to go. Fans are already speculating about potential interference in the match, either to hinder Rhodes or aid him in leveling the playing field.
In a recent interaction on Twitter, Rhodes’ longtime friend Matt Cardona responded to questions from fans. When asked if he would assist Cody Rhodes in the potential Bloodline Rules match, Cardona made it clear he would be there for Rhodes.
“If he needs my help.”
Only time will tell whether Roman Reigns will end up losing his title to Cody Rhodes, so that The American Nightmare will be able to finish his story at the Showcase of The Immortals.
