Becky Lynch is one of the biggest names in professional wrestling right now and she is set for a massive match at WrestleMania 40. In fact, Lynch made it clear she wants to open WrestleMania 40 Saturday.
The main events for WrestleMania 40 are confirmed: Saturday will feature The Rock & Roman Reigns facing off against Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins in the headline match. Meanwhile, Sunday will see Roman Reigns defending his title against Cody Rhodes in the main event.
Naturally, there is a lot of hype for both matches but they aren’t the only highly anticipated matches. While speaking to ClutchPoints, Becky Lynch stated that she really wants to open WrestleMania Saturday.
“I would love to open the show. I would love that. I’ve never opened WrestleMania before. To open this one, as big as it is in Philadelphia, I’m just putting that out there,” she manifested with a laugh. “It would be pretty cool because if it’s not the main event, I always want to be the opening spot — it’s always a great place on the card because people are so excited.”
”Ooh, night one. I would love to open the whole of WrestleMania, you know what I’m saying? Just [to] be that first match for that whole event. [Opening the show will] give me enough time that I can relax and really enjoy Colby [Rollins] main eventing WrestleMania and getting to watch him do that because that will be so special.”
We will have to wait and see whether Becky Lynch will get her wish and she gets to face off against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 40 Saturday as the opening match, as fans would love to see The Man pick up win.
