Since their arrival in NXT, the Good Brothers, consisting of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, have made a significant impact. However, their transition hasn’t been without its challenges. Following a controversial loss on SmackDown, fans were left wondering why their match didn’t unfold as expected. Recent reports shed light on the situation, revealing the underlying reason behind the match’s deviation from the original plan.
Gallows and Anderson secured a spot in the Number One Contender’s Match for the NXT Tag Team Championship by defeating Hank Walker and Tank Ledger on the March 19 episode of NXT.
During this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Grayson Waller and Austin Theory emerged victorious over The OC’s Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. However, the match took an unexpected turn when Gallows appeared to injure his leg, which ultimately influenced the outcome. As Waller intervened to disrupt a potential Magic Killer, Theory capitalized by rolling up Gallows with his feet on the ropes, securing the victory for his team.
Fightful Select reported that the match between The O.C. and Grayson Waller & Austin Theory on Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown had a different dynamic compared to The O.C.’s usual matches. The notable difference was attributed to Luke Gallows taking the majority of the offense during the match, which deviates from their typical match formula.
”The O.C. vs. Grayson Waller & Austin Theory match from Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown from the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, WI. was worked differently than The O.C. usually works their matches. It was noted that the reason the match may have looked different than other matches featuring The O.C. because Luke Gallows took the heat during it, which is a different formula than they usually use.”
The Good Brothers plan to shift their focus to the NXT Tag Team Titles. We will have to wait and see whether The Good Brothers will be able to win the NXT Tag Team Championships as they are clearly red hot right now in NXT, following their shocking loss on SmackDown.
