Despite his stature in pro wrestling, Kota Ibushi faced heavy criticism for his performances last year. He was involved in one of the worst matches in NOAH history early in the year, resulting in surgery. However, Ibushi is confident he will return earlier than expected.
During the main event of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s ‘The New Year 2024,’ Naomichi Marufuji and Kota Ibushi faced off. Despite shattering one of his ankles during the match, Ibushi showed incredible determination and managed to finish the bout.
Kota Ibushi’s extensive injuries post-match were disclosed, and he underwent ankle surgery for torn ligaments. He also mentioned the possibility of needing additional surgeries.
The AEW star took to his Instagram and uploaded a video of himself training in the ring with a dummy, as he was a sitout powerbomb and even a standing moonsault. Ibushi noted how he could explode with lab practice since surgery and that he will return in six months.
”1 year in and out, my ankle is still sprained, but I was able to explode with lab practice since surgery. It doesn’t take a year to come back. It will surely heal in six months. CURE !!”
Kota Ibushi also showed off nasty stitches following his ankle surgery. We will have to wait and see when Ibushi will be able to make his triumphant return to in-ring action and hopefully not injure himself again.
