The Rock’s current heel persona skillfully melds his Hollywood charisma with the edgy attitude he showcased in the late 90s, captivating fans with his dynamic character. Lately, he has been dubbing himself the “Final Boss,” adding another layer of intrigue to his persona. Despite this, some criticism has surfaced regarding The Rock’s return, leaving Jim Ross perplexed by the backlash.
While a lot of fans are happy to see The Great One regularly on WWE television after so many years, there are quite a few people who feel The Rock had no reason to come back in the first place.
While speaking on Grilling JR, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross addressed criticism about The Rock returning to WWE, making it clear that he couldn’t comprehend why anyone would criticize The Rock’s return.
“It’s hard to read comments from those that criticize Rock’s return and how he returned, et cetera, et cetera, ad nauseam. Stop and think about it. You’re a booker, if you’re running the show, and you get an opportunity to retain the services of The Great One, then you don’t even think about it. That’s a very easy decision to make. I’m glad that he’s back. He seems to be having a good time.”
The Rock has already been announced for the April 1st edition of Monday Night RAW. Nevertheless, fans will have to accept that The Rock will remain a huge part of WrestleMania 40 and that’s not changing.
