WWE Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin made a surprise return to in-ring action at WrestleMania 38 for a match against Kevin Owens, breaking his retirement. However, he hasn’t competed since then. Despite this, fans are eager for him to make an appearance at WrestleMania 40, and it seems their wishes might just be granted.
As WrestleMania 40 approaches, anticipation is at an all-time high with the return of The Rock. Set to compete in his first WrestleMania match in 11 years, The Rock will join forces with Roman Reigns to face off against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on Night One of the event.
The Rock’s comeback, coupled with the landmark 40th edition of WrestleMania, has ignited speculation about the potential involvement of one of his greatest rivals.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WrestleMania 40, scheduled for Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will feature involvement from legendary names. Among them are Steve Austin, John Cena, and several others, contributing to the event’s star-studded lineup.
“There is no creative locked in for Cena and Austin at this moment, or if there is it’s a well-guarded secret. A lot depends on how much they are willing to do and money. Cena is free but depending on what acting stuff he has and how quick after he’s filming would determine how much he can or can’t do for insurance reasons. Austin and Undertaker would be based on willingness that they have.”
Multiple other legends have also been confirmed for WrestleMania 40 weekend. We will have to wait and see whether The Texas Rattlesnake will make his appearance at the Show of Shows.
