Matt Cardona has transformed himself from a mid-card talent to one of the biggest attractions on the independent circuit with his hardcore style, gruesome physical bouts, and perseverance that earned him the moniker of The Indy God who still hopes to make his return to the global juggernaut someday, WWE.
Amidst his successful tenure wrestling for various promotions, Cardona has made his return to his former turf, i.e. TNA Wrestling, a few weeks after re-signing with GCW in recent memory. During the tapings of tonight’s show for next week, The Indy God can be spotted in the crowd, keeping his head down and looking for the opportunity to strike.
As soon as the chance presents itself, Matt Cardona rushes to the ring during an ongoing women’s match and connects with a thunderous Rough Ryder finisher on one of the individuals inside the squared circle. You can check out the video here.
Cardona burst onto the TNA/IMPACT scene during Hard to Kill 2021 as a formidable contender. His journey culminated in him clinching the TNA Digital Championship title. However, his tenure as a full-time competitor concluded in January 2023. Despite this, he made a surprise return for a one-off appearance during the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound For Glory 2023.
With Cardona making a surprise appearance on this week’s TNA tapings, it seems that Cardona has some unfinished business in the promotion, and that has motivated the Indy God to make TNA his new landscape to conquer, much like has done in multiple promotions on the independent circuit. Stay tuned to Ringside News as we continue to follow up on this story.
