Chris Jericho is widely known in the wrestling community for his generosity in elevating other talent. Nonetheless, some contend that Jericho’s participation might inadvertently hinder the momentum of the stars he teams up with. With that said Jericho has no intention of retiring anytime soon.
Even after more than 30 years in the wrestling industry, Chris Jericho continues to wrestle regularly. In 2024 alone, Jericho has competed against notable names such as Konosuke Takeshita, HOOK, Kyle Fletcher, Matt Sydal, and CMLL’s Titan.
In recent months, there has been speculation about Chris Jericho’s future in wrestling, with many fans anticipating his retirement. However, according to Jericho himself, that is not the case.
While speaking to Q&A at his Rock N Wrestling Rager at Sea cruise, Chris Jericho was asked about retiring from in-ring action. Jericho made it clear he has no intention of retiring anytime soon.
“AEW really did save my perspective of wrestling and really kind of reinvigorated my career to where I have no interest or reason to retire as of yet because I still enjoy it, I still love what I do, and I still feel that I can perform at a high level.”
“I can still have the best match of the night on any given night, not every night, but any given night I can. To me, that means a lot and you guys all seem to love it and appreciate what we do. My retirement match will be whatever storyline we have when that moment comes, it could be tomorrow, it could be ten years. I mean, Sting is freaking 65 and he’s retiring in a couple of months. I could still have some time left.”
Chris Jericho also recently claimed that AEW talented are always elevated after feuding with him. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen what’s next in store for Le Champion in the coming weeks.
