Kevin Patrick joined the WWE main roster commentary team back in 2022, but he never quite got a hang of things, which ultimately resulted in his firing this year. Becky Lynch has now admitted that Patrick’s WWE release was heartbreaking.
As previously mentioned, WWE closely monitored Kevin Patrick’s performance as the lead play-by-play commentator for SmackDown in the absence of Michael Cole. Ultimately, he was released from his position due to not meeting the company’s expectations.
While speaking to The Ringer Wrestling Show, Becky Lynch talked about Kevin Patrick’s release from WWE. The Man admitted that his firing from WWE was absolutely heartbreaking.
“It was. It was heartbreaking, we all loved him. We loved him, I love him. He’s great. He was always working so hard. He would always find you [and say] ‘what do you want me to talk about, let me take all these notes.’ He was always asking and always trying to improve and get better and tell the best story. That goes a long way too that he cared enough to always be doing that. He was great.”
Kevin Patrick also landed a lucrative job after his WWE firing. Kevin Patrick also claimed that he and WWE parted on amicable terms. It remains to be seen whether Patrick will make his return to WWE one day.
