Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns are on a collision course, which began long before WrestleMania 39 last year. Ahead of their bout at WrestleMania 40, Xavier Woods made it clear that he believes Reigns will lose his title at the Show of Shows.
Night two of WrestleMania 40 is set to culminate in a highly anticipated clash for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The reigning champion, Roman Reigns, will defend his title against the victor of the 2024 Royal Rumble match, Cody Rhodes.
Anticipation is at a fever pitch among fans, with many speculating that Rhodes may finally bring an end to Reigns’ dominant reign as ‘The Tribal Chief’. However, loyal supporters of Reigns remain steadfast in their belief that he will emerge victorious and retain his championship, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown in Philadelphia.
During a recent interview with WWE: Die Woche, Xavier Woods made a bold proclamation regarding the outcome of WrestleMania 40, stating that Roman Reigns will not retain the Undisputed Universal Championship.
“No chance. There’s absolutely no way he walks out of WrestleMania with that championship. If he somehow manages to do so, I’ll have to watch my words, but I’m fully confident he won’t be champion after WrestleMania 40,” Woods declared. “Then, perhaps, we’ll have a champion who actually shows up and defends the title more regularly. Then, maybe, other contenders will have a genuine shot at winning the Universal Championship.”
Only time will tell whether Roman Reigns will end up losing his title to Cody Rhodes, so that The American Nightmare will be able to finish his story at the Showcase of The Immortals.
