Dakota Kai Discloses Real Reason for Betraying Bayley

Bayley’s trust in Dakota Kai as a friend against IYO Sky and the Kabuki Warriors for WrestleMania 40 turned out to be a deceptive move. On SmackDown, Kai betrayed Bayley and now she has revealed the real reason for betraying Bayley.

In a shocking turn of events on the March 1st edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Dakota Kai and Bayley teamed up to face WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka and Kairi Sane. Initially, their team appeared dominant, but during the climax of the match, Dakota stunned everyone by betraying Bayley and aligning herself with Damage CTRL.

Bayley’s unexpected betrayal by Dakota Kai has left her outnumbered and facing a tougher path to WrestleMania 40 against both her former ally and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Now, Bayley finds herself in a precarious position as she prepares for the biggest event of the year.

In an interview on 97.7 QLZ, Dakota Kai commented on her betrayal of Bayley, claiming her actions were justified. The veteran stated that the former leader of Damage CTRL was too controlling, and she believed the group could accomplish more without her.

“So, I am grateful to Bayley, right? She allowed me to come back to the company, she has given both IYO and I a lot of opportunities. But, I think at the end of the day, if you have a parent that is a little bit too controlling of the things you do, that is how we felt. We felt like we could do a lot more without her leash on us.”

Dakota Kai added that the group wanted to elevate their game by ousting Bayley from Damage CTRL.

“It’s strange to see everyone siding with her when she’s been orchestrating our shenanigans for years. Without Bayley, we aim to take things to another level.”

Bayley and Dakota Kai squared off against each other on last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. It remains to be seen whether Bayley will be able to defeat IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40 in the end.
