Cody Rhodes, apart from his laser-focused self and huge fan-favorite wrestler in the WWE Universe also has a basic human side to his American Nightmare persona who enjoys leisure time much like everybody else.

Recently, WWE Interviewer Sam Roberts was asked in an interview about the moment that kicked off the supposed new era of WWE that has been displaying some profanity in their television programming, moving away from their long-standing PG era.

Sam stated that the one singular moment that started this new timeline in WWE was the grand return of Cody Rhodes back at WrestleMania 38. He came back to the company after six years under the American Nightmare gimmick and since then, has risen to potentially become the next flagship star of WWE.

Rhodes did notice Sam Roberts’ appreciation for labeling his return as the moment for WWE to transition into a new era. However, he pulled out some funny antic via his X by questioning Sam’s identity, despite being co-workers.

“Who is this Sam Roberts guy?”

But the tables turned on Cody instead as Roberts responded via his X account by sharing a throwback photo of himself and Cody Rhodes, under the guise of his past gimmick that was heavily criticized by fans in WWE, Stardust.

While it was all fun and games for now, that won’t be the case when WrestleMania 40 arrives as Cody Rhodes teams up with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to battle the iconic duo of Roman Reigns and The Rock at WrestleMania 40 Night 1 with huge implications involved for his match against Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title on Night 2 in the main event.
