The wrestling fans in Toronto, Canada witnessed the beginning of tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite with the presence of the new Blueprint of the women’s division and perhaps, the reigniting of an old rivalry from Japan.

AEW commentator Tony Schiavone opened the show and introduced one of the biggest signees of the company who made her debut last week on AEW Big Business, Mercedes Mone who arrived in style and looking a million dollars like the CEO she is.

Mercedes grabbed the microphone to open up about missing being between the ropes and the fans, while also reflecting on the serious ankle injury she suffered last summer during her class in-ring bout against the woman she assisted at the close of last week’s show, Willow Nightingale.

However as Mercedes Mone continued her addressal, the lights went out in the arena and came back with AEW TBS champion Julia Hart standing ringside staring across the woman whose mission was to take things globally in AEW. Moments later, Mone was attacked by Hart’s ally, Skye Blue from behind and both launched a combined assault on the CEO.

It was at that moment that the Calvary arrived for Mercedes in the form of Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale, who came to her aid and seemingly returned the favor from last week. However, it was worth noting that the segment ended with the lights going out again and saw Willow holding the chair, possibly looking to strike Mercedes herself, leading to a somewhat verbal back-and-forth between the two former rivals, who could be heading towards a collision course soon.

Do you think Mercedes Mone and Willow Nightingale would reignite their past feud in AEW? Sound off in the comments!
