Booker T has been enjoying his time as the commentator of WWE NXT. On the 3/12 episode of the developmental brand, CM Punk made a surprise appearance. Booker, during his podcast, revealed that he had a run-in with the Best in the World making headlines all around the world.
With millions speculating the reason both legends had a run-in, it became a topic of discussion on social media. However, addressing the issue, the Hall of Famer claimed that the run-in could have been on the smallest thing possible and that fans made a huge deal out of it.
Addressing his claim about the run-in with CM Punk on the show, in a recent episode of the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T appealed to fans to focus less on the discussion going on the internet. He claimed that he was trying to entertain his fans and that he was just playing around.
“If you hear me say anything here on the Hall of Fame, this show, is show-related. I’m trying to entertain my fans. I’m trying to entertain the fans just watching this, trying to give you guys a moment when you ain’t gotta think about that kind of stuff, alright? So if you hear me say something about CM Punk, Corey Graves, Michael Cole, Brad [Gilmore].
“Don’t jump into the internet mess. So let’s just get that out there right now. Because that story, that 40-second story that people wrote, it was clickbait, guys. That’s what it was more than anything. Did I put it out there? Did I say it? As far as I had a beef, I was gonna run up? Yeah, I said [it] But I’m entertaining you guys. Entertaining. Just playing around.”
Booker T’s recent comments on his podcast have made it clear that his run-in with CM Punk was just a joke that he said to entertain his fans. While the Hall of Famer indeed was joking around, fans didn’t feel it that way. Ringside News will keep you posted on this story.
