Will Ospreay created waves in the wrestling world when he officially announced his transition to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) at Full Gear last year, solidifying his status as a full-time member of the AEW roster.
He confirmed his decision to commit to AEW on a full-time basis once he fulfills his obligations with NJPW, which concluded in February 2024 and despite engaging in discussions with multiple promotions, Ospreay ultimately opted to sign with AEW.
The Aerial Assassin made his first official AEW debut at their huge spectacle. AEW Revolution this month, where he emerged victorious over his fellow Don Callis family member, Konosuke Takeshita.
During a recent appearance on Talk Is Jericho with Chris Jericho, Ospreay revealed that WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair came up to him backstage after the match and stated that he matched up to everything Naitch had heard about him.
“He came backstage. My ass was killing me. I came back and I planted myself down and I was crying. He went, ‘Mr. Ospreay’, and he took my hand. I looked up and it was Ric. I stood up and I was like, ‘Yes, sir.’ He was like, ‘You are everything I’ve heard of and more. You’re the best guy here right now.”
After winning his first official bout at AEW Revolution, Ospreay secured a decisive victory over his best friend Kyle Fletcher on Dynamite last week. He is slated to face Bryan Danielson at AEW Dynasty, generating anticipation for the outcome of this highly anticipated match.
