WrestleMania is around the corner and the anticipation for the premium live event has been building up with every new announcement in WWE. While the 40th edition of WrestleMania still has spots left in the match card, WWE has started working on the location for next year’s edition.
As reported by the Star Tribune earlier this week, Minnesota had submitted a bid to host the 41st edition of WrestleMania. The report stated that they wanted to host WrestleMania 41 in the U.S. Bank Stadium. Additionally, it was revealed that the President of the Minnesota Sports and Events was very eager to sign a deal with the company.
While the WWE Universe has been expecting an announcement from the company, the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed the ‘Rule of Thumb’ for WWE’s announcement regarding the location for WrestleMania. As per the report, the cities making bids for the location stay quiet when a deal is confirmed. WWE then makes the move and makes an official announcement regarding the same.
“It’s been reported in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune what we pretty much noted last week, which is that Minneapolis has put in a bid for WrestleMania 41. The story noted that there is heavy competition. The general rule of thumb is that cities will on occasion talk about their bids, but when it’s finalized, all goes quiet until the day WWE releases it.“
“For example, when Santa Clara put in its bid, as many know, they consulted with me for it and we talked all the time about strategy, and then everything went to total silence for months, which I presumed meant there was a good chance they got it, until a couple of days before the press conference called to announce it.”
Following WWE’s Rule of Thumb, if Minnesota has signed a deal with WWE for hosting WrestleMania 41, they might stay quiet for a few weeks before WWE makes an official announcement. It won’t be surprising if the company waits till WrestleMania 40 to announce the location for next year. Stay connected to Ringside News to get latest updates on WWE.
